"Trevor's Body" is the fourteenth episode of Season 2 in the American sitcom Ghosts and its 32nd episode overall. It premiered on February 9, 2023.

Synopsis[]

Trevor receives disturbing news about his parents when they come to Woodstone B&B to collect his newly discovered remains. Also, Isaac and Nigel's relationship hits a roadblock.

Plot[]

A Plot: Trevor's skull is discovered in a lake on Woodstone's property when Jay Arondekar is taking a BnB couple out to fish for their supper, a service they're calling "Bait to Plate" (a name which Isaac supposedly coined). Isaac, Nigel and Thorfinn is watching. The discovery of Trevor's remains brings his parents, Lenny Lefkowitz and Esther Lefkowitz, to the BnB. Trevor is distressed to find out his parents are now divorced. Trevor hatches a plan to "Parent Trap" his folks via holding a memorial for himself to get his parents back together.

The first step is to have a dinner of red snapper for his folks because that's their traditional anniversary dinner. Second, Samantha Arondekar plays "The Best of Times" for them during dinner, because it is their song they sang at every special family occasion. Third, Sam serves them dessert in the library with the TV and suggests they put on "The Horse Whisperer," with Robert Redford, a movie which Esther finds "sensual." But then her ex-husband Lenny takes a work phone call before the movie begins and Esther gets frustrated and leaves.

Trevor and Sam hatch an updated plot: Trevor needs to sneak into his mother's bedroom that night and use her phone to sext his father. Alberta, Hetty, Flower, and Sasappis all stayed in Esther's bedroom that night and watched Trevor's parents have sex, confirming they reconciled (at least, for one night). Trevor's memorial then begins and Tara Reid arrives, a present from Trevor's brother Jeremy who couldn't make it. Tara Reid reveals during her speech at the memorial that Trevor's father hit on her earlier, thus causing Esther to reject him once again.

Sam tries one last time to convince Esther and Lenny to reconcile on Trevor's behalf. Lenny explains that Trevor's death has nothing to do with their break-up. Trevor accepts that his parents still love him and are better off divorced. Alberta gives him a mom hug. Sam worries her and Jay might one day grow apart and Jay reassures her they never will. Trevor tries to kill Tara Reid, causing her to become a ghost and be stuck with him forever, via knocking over a vase for her to trip over and fall down the stairs. Sam stops her and picks up the vase, preventing the accident.

B Plot: Isaac and Nigel Chessum's relationship hits a roadblock when Isaac finds out Nigel had a "liaison" with another British ghost on Christmas. The episode opens with them taking a walk around the grounds together. Thorfinn and Pete are shown watching ants in the shed with Nigel, while Isaac sits in the shed being stared at by Jenkins, one of the British redcoat ghosts. When Isaac and Nigel leave to continue their walk, Jenkins "lets slip" that he and Nigel "liaisoned" on Christmas Eve. Pete asks Alberta, Hetty, and Flower if he should tell Isaac, but before they can come to a decision Isaac overhears and finds out anyway. Isaac confronts Nigel in the shed, who admits to the liaison but insists he and Isaac were on a "respite" at the time.

While Isaac is moping, Alberta suggests Isaac finds a rebound, and Nancy the basement ghost suggests he "get some strange." Thorfinn tells him there is a gay Puritan ghost at the Farnsby's where his son resides. Isaac goes to the window and shouts back and forth with George, the Puritan ghost, discovering quickly that he is far too sexually forward for Isaac's tastes. Isaac quickly reconciles with Nigel and forgives him for the Christmas liaison with Jenkins. Isaac then suggests Nigel move out of the shed (where his ex, Jenkins, resides) and into the Woodstone Mansion with him—albeit in separate rooms. Nigel gladly accepts and suggests he move into the library.

Quotes[]

Hetty: Tara Reid is giving a speech.
Jenkins: I guess you'll have to ask Nigel, won't you? Let those lips tell you themselves what they've been up to.
Flower: Oooh, 'Respectable Shmeckel': good band name!
Hetty: Peter, as our resident cuckold what do you think we should do? Would you have wanted to know about your wife cheating on you?
Nigel: We were on a respite.
Isaac: A respite? We were estranged a mere fifteen hours
Nigel: You refused to even kiss me. You injured my pride.
Isaac: I can't even look at you right now. We're finished.
Nigel: Again, we were on a respite. A respite!
Nigel: Sometimes it takes a meaningless Christmas liaison, or screaming obscenities with a pervy Puritan to realize what you've had all along.
