Prehistoric Era[]

2,000,000 years ago[]

  • Urs is born and later dies, presumably from a lightning strike after being chased by a mammoth or killed by one itself

400,000–4,000 years ago[]

  • Robin is born and then later dies of a lightning strike after being chased by a bear
  • Humans migrate across the Bering Strait and into North America

10,000 years ago–3000 BCE[]

  • Humans begin to farm and build civilizations

Ancient Times[]

500 BC–1 BC[]

  • Albos and the other basement ghosts die from food poisoning
  • Claudius is born between 19 and 18 BC

  • Roman rule in Britain ends

  • The Western Roman Empire falls

Middle Ages[]

500s–999[]

  • Various Germanic tribes, such as the Saxons, Danes, and Jutes, migrate to England and intermarry and settle with the Celtic Britons, forming the Anglo Saxons (English people)
  • Alfred the Great wins a decisive victory in the Battle of Edington in 878 and makes an agreement with the Vikings, dividing England between Anglo-Saxon territory and the Viking-ruled Danelaw, composed of northern England, the north-east Midlands and East Anglia. Alfred also oversaw the conversion of Viking leader Guthrum to Christianity
  • Ancestral Pueblans travel to the southwestern part of the United States and establish Pueblo culture
  • Charlemagne is crowned king of the Carolingian Empire
  • Wu Zetian rules as China's only empress regnant
  • Thorfinn is born in 972
  • Thorfinn is stranded on an island, for a month he survives off eating a seal he named Sven[1]

999–1000 AD[]

  • Bjorn is born around this time
  • The Battle of Svolder between Norway and Denmark takes place
  • Thorfinn sails to the Americas and gets abandoned by his shipmates
  • Chaco Canyon and Pueblo Bonito becomes major centers of culture for the Ancestral Puebloans

1001–1007[]

  • Thorfinn befriends a squirrel, whom he names Oskar, but goes hungry one winter and ends up killing and eating him
  • Thorfinn dies after getting struck by lightning

1066[]

  • William the Conqueror defeats Harold Godwinson and becomes King of England

1300s[]

  • Mick travels to London and supposedly meets the King of England
  • Mick infects his entire village with the plague after traveling from London, killing them all

1337–1453[]

  • The Hundred Years' War is fought between England and France, with the House of Valinois ultimately prevailing and retaining control of France

1455–1490s[]

  • Wars of the Roses is fought between the Houses of Lancaster and York, with the former claiming victory
  • Columbus “discovers” the Americas
  • Sasappis is born

The 1500s[]

1513[]

  • Sasappis tries to become a storyteller, but dies one week before he can tell his first story

1524[]

  • The first recorded European contact with the Lenape occurs

  • King Henry VIII creates the Church of England and makes himself head

1536–1539[]

  • Henry Courtenay,[2] 1st Marquess of Exeter and 2nd Earl of Devon, was gifted the real "Button House" in 1536

1540s[]

  • King Henry VIII visits Button House and dines there
  • Humphrey gets into an arranged marriage with Sophie from a French noble family

1558[]

  • Queen Elizabeth I becomes Queen of England

1571[]

1575[]

  • Sophie and her club plot against Queen Elizabeth I to place her Catholic cousin, Mary, Queen of Scots, on the throne
  • On the 26th of September, Humphrey helps his wife to escape Her Majesty's Guard and hides himself, but dies after getting decapitated by the swords hanging above his fireplace

The 1600s[]

1603[]

  • Queen Elizabeth I dies and James VI of Scotland becomes James I of England

1609[]

  • Henry Hudson sails the Hudson river

1610s[]

  • Griet is born between 1611 and 1612
  • Mary marries John Guppy, who later dies in a farming accident while ploughing a field three years after their wedding
  • Mary is accused and tried for witchcraft for unknown reasons after a crop failure where she was deemed to be guilty, then burnt at the stake somewhere on the grounds of Button House (1612)
  • The first enslaved Africans arrive in Virginia

1620s[]

  • Dutch "purchase" Manhattan from the Lenape
  • Puritans, Separatists, and other European groups increasingly settle northeast America

1630s[]

  • The Pequot War takes place between English colonists and the indigenous Pequot tribe
  • Willem Kieft is appointed Governor of New Amsterdam

1642–1651[]

  • The English Civil War occurs, where the Roundhead Soldier's pike gets impaled into his waist during battle
  • Kieft's War occurs between the Lenape and Dutch colonists

1652–1664[]

  • Griet is burned at the stake and dies in 1656
  • Oliver Cromwell sets up a protectorate and names himself Lord Protector
  • Esopus Colony/Wiltwyck/Kingston, is established in Ulster County, NY
  • Esopus War takes place between the Lenape and Kingston settlers
  • Charles II gets reinstated to the throne
  • British conquer New Amsterdam and rename it New York, after the Duke of York

1670[]

1692[]

  • Patience is exiled from her Puritan colony, and vows to start her own. She dies from bloodletting sometime after her exile
  • Salem Witch Trials occur in Massachusetts

The 1700s[]

1707[]

  • The Acts of Unions unites England and Scotland as one country: Great Britain

1711[]

  • Annie dies after choking on bread
  • Annie teaches Mary to be more assertive

1740s[]

1750s[]

1777[]

  • Nigel gets shot accidentally by Isaac, while he was spying on him using his own invention of the sniper scope
  • Isaac surrenders to the British and dies of dysentery two weeks after negotiating the Siege of Fort Ticonderoga

1765–1784[]

  • The American Revolution occurs
  • The Other Redcoat ghosts die at some point during the war
  • Kitty gets manipulated and tricked by her sister, Eleanor, which prevents Kitty from going to a ball

1780[]

  • Kitty dies on the 8th of March after being unknowingly bitten by a poisonous spider

1780s[]

  • Jenkins dies

Late 1700s[]

  • The Articles of Confederation get discarded and the United States Constitution gets ratified
  • George Washington becomes the first president of the United States
  • Lord Higham has ownership of Higham House
  • Thomas Thorne is born
  • Friedrich Dorn is shot in a duel on 10 May 1794

The 1800s[]

Early 1800s[]

  • King George III goes mad and his son George IV takes over as Prince Regent
  • The Louisiana Purchase occurs, with the United States owning large amounts of land from Napoleonic France
  • Napoleon gets defeated and imprisoned in St. Helena

1820s[]

1837[]

  • Queen Victoria becomes Queen of England after William IV dies

1854[]

Mid 1800s[]

  • Francis marries Isabelle Higham and becomes the joint owner of Higham House, eventually changing its name to Button House
  • Hetty Woodstone is born
  • A group of people get infected by cholera, are locked in a pesthouse and die, becoming the cholera ghosts
  • The American Civil War occurs

1875[]

  • Hetty's father forbids her from dating a painter

1883[]

  • Woodstone Mansion is wired with electricity. One of the electricians gets shocked and falls down onto Isaac, who possesses him. The Woodstones arrange for an exorcism which expels Isaac from the workman.[4]

Late 1880s[]

  • Isabelle and/or Francis possibly die of natural causes, leaving their child heir to Button House
  • Fanny marries George Button to save her family's finances after her father ran up a gambling debt
  • Annie moves on
  • The Universal Expositions in Paris occur
  • The Columbian Exposition in Chicago takes place to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus' arrival
  • Electricity becomes popular
  • Carl Bentz invents the modern car

  • The Captain is born (1900)
  • Queen Victoria dies, leaving her son Albert King, making him Edward VII, who then dies and leaves George V King
  • The Progressive Era occurs in the United States
  • World War I takes place
  • Women get the right to vote
  • Alberta moves to New York from Tulsa, Oklahoma
  • After finding out her husband has been cheating on her, Lady Fanny Button gets pushed out of a window at Button House by her husband and dies

1920s–1930s[]

  • Alcohol is prohibited (1/17/1920) in the United States but becomes legal again (12/5/1933)
  • Ireland frees itself from Britain
  • The Great Depression occurs
  • President Franklin D. Roosevelt creates the New Deal
  • Sophie Woodstone is born
  • Heather Button is born
  • Alberta records one album

1938[]

1939–1945 (World War II)[]

  • Germany invades Poland in 1939, starting World War II
  • The Captain serves as an army captain
  • Japan bombs Pearl Harbor, launching the United States into World War II
  • Crash is born
  • D-Day occurs with the storming of Normandy (6/6/1944)
  • The United States drops two atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan, ending World War II
  • The Captain dies of a heart attack

Late 1940s–1950s[]

  • Crash is beheaded
  • Julian is born
  • The Korean War occurs
  • Pat Butcher is born
  • The Vietnam War begins
  • Pete Martino is born
  • The Red Scare occurs, with the United States government prosecuting anyone suspected of being a communist
  • King George VI dies and Elizabeth II becomes Queen of England

1960s[]

  • Flower joins and eventually escapes a cult
  • Flower's brother, Rob, serves in the Vietnam War and goes MIA
  • Trevor is born (1967/1968)
  • Stephanie is born (1968/1969)

1968[]

  • Flower is a member of a commune that robs a bank in order to give the stolen money to charity; she and her boyfriend Ira later steal the money for themselves
  • Martin Luther King Jr is assassinated, prompting riots throughout the United States
  • Robert F. Kennedy runs for president but gets killed, making Hubert Humphrey the Democratic nominee
  • Republican nominee Richard Nixon beats Humphrey and gets elected President of the United States

1969[]

  • The Woodstock Festival takes place, featuring artists such as Joan Baez, Jimi Hendrix, and The Who
  • Flower dies while high after trying to befriend a bear, who mauls her to death
  • The Beatles give their last public performance
  • Julian studies at the University of Cambridge and experiences his first threesome
  • Pete and Carol Martino get married

1970s[]

  • Flower's boyfriend Ira uses the money he and Flower stole to open a coffee shop named in her honor which later becomes a franchise.
  • A young female hitchhiker gets murdered on the side of the road
  • The Vietnam War ends
  • Julian graduates from Cambridge and enters into law and politics
  • The Post World War II economic boom comes to an end, and the world experiences a recession and inflation
  • Richard Nixon quits after the Water Gate scandal
  • Margaret Thatcher becomes Prime Minister
  • The Iranian Revolution occurs, leaving several Americans held hostage
  • On 16 September 1979, Daniel Quignon dies after being shot in the neck with an arrow

1980s[]

  • John Lennon assassinated
  • MTV launches
  • Trevor has Bar Mitzvah and his theme was Mel Gibson movies
  • Trevor beats his brother Jeremy in a game of Super Mega Bowl

1984[]

  • Pat Butcher dies after getting shot in the neck with an arrow by Keith Darren Dean
  • Ronald Reagan wins the 1984 election and is re-elected the next term
  • Svenni dies after being shot with an arrow

1985[]

  • Pete Martino dies after accidentally getting shot in the neck with an arrow

1987[]

  • Stephanie gets murdered by an escaped chainsaw killer on her way to prom with her boyfriend

Late 1980s–early 1990s[]

  • The Berlin Wall fell (11/9/1989)
  • Alison is born
  • Mike is born
  • Sam is born
  • Jay is born
  • Emma Küper is born

  • Sam meets her great aunt Sophie when she is a child
  • Roland Givorant dies of a heart attack while having an orgy

  • Trevor gives his pants to Pinkus, and dies of a heart attack two hours after mixing pills and alcohol

  • The September 11 attacks occur at the Twin Towers and the Pentagon
  • Bush launches a "War on Terror," entering the United States into war with Afghanistan

Mid 2000s–2010s[]

  • Alison Cooper's parents die
  • Samantha's mother, Sheryl, dies from a severe allergic reaction to shellfish
  • Jay and Samantha get married
  • Alison and Mike Cooper get married
  • Heather Button dies peacefully in her sleep, leaving Button House to Alison
  • Alison Cooper gets pushed out of a window, allowing her to see ghosts
  • Hélène de Merais and Jacques de Merais meet and get married sometime later

2020s[]

Mid 2020s[]

  • Chris dies after crashing plummeting from the sky after failing to open his parachute.

  2. Humphrey's life and death bears a similarity to Courtenay's in that Courtenay and his wife were implicated in the Exeter Conspiracy to overthrow the monarch. Courtenay was subsequently beheaded in 1539.
