Thomas Woodstone is the son of Elias Woodstone and Hetty. He is briefly seen in the episode The Family Business. He appears in the CBS series.
Biography[]
After his mother committed suicide during a police raid, he questions his mother in spirit, whether or not he should marry during a courtship. His mother has Thorfinn, flicker the lights as a gesture to say that she doesn't approve. However, Thomas takes this the other way and gets married.
In the episode Whodunnit, his mother Hetty, had followed him during a New Year's Eve party that he was hosting. When Al Capone was considering suicide, Theresa (Alberta's sister), stopped him. She informed Thomas about what happened and gave him his poisoned moonshine. Instead of getting rid of it Thomas gave it to Alberta leaving it outside her dressing room door.
Its shown that he and Earl Boudreaux were lovers. The night Alberta died he and Earl had a fight he was upset that Earl would not break things off with Alberta. Instead Earl broke things off with Thomas. While still angry he lashed out and gave the poison to Alberta.
Trivia[]
- Hetty calls the woman he's seeing a money grubbing harlot who is landless.
- Thorfinn notes that he throws a good party.
- He appears in two episodes of Season 2, Whodunnit and The Family Business in flashbacks.
- In the episode Whodunnit, he's at least bisexual since he married a woman to continue the family line (assuming he is the one who Sam is descendant from) and was secretly seeing Earl. Although he could been in the closet only marrying to continue the family line similar to George Button from the UK series who coincidentally also killed someone, although their motives for the murders were very different.
- Isaac always thought he was gay.
- His motives are similar to Thomas Thorne's cousin Francis Button in the UK version due to both being behind the mastermind behind the murder of one of the ghosts (Thomas Thorne & Alberta) as a way to get together with the people that are not interested in them and only with the people they murdered (Isabelle Higham and Earl respectively). Though Francis would get together and marry Isabelle, it is unknown what happened between Earl & Thomas although it's highly likely they never got back together.
- In Holes Are Bad, Hetty says that he went to boarding school.
- In 1893 Hetty only saw him twice, once when the nanny suddenly died and his birthday as mentioned in Sam's Dad.
Notes and references[]
- ↑ We know several pieces of information as to the date of birth of Thomas.
1) In the flashback to 1875, Hetty has yet to marry.
2) In Holes Are Bad, Hetty mentions that Thomas is at boarding school - "I shall pick up my son from boarding school" - when she is intending to abscond before the police arrive to arrest her for Elias's debts.
3) The age of starting boarding school was thirteen, so Thomas was at least thirteen by the time she died in 1895.
4) Thomas is under eighteen in 1895, as he has not yet left boarding school.
This places his date of birth in a period of four years: 1878 (for him to be under eighteen - and thus making it possible for Hetty to "[pick her son] up from boarding school" shortly before she died) to 1882 (for him to be thirteen and in his first year at boarding school)
