Maurice Clawson[1] was the best friend of Pat Butcher, a scoutmaster who died in an archery accident at Button House.
Biography[]
At some point after Pat's death, Maurice and Carol got married. Their family visits the place where Pat died every year, paying their respects by a tree stump on the property.
Pat doesn't realise Maurice and Carol had been having an affair behind his back until he's recounting a story to Alison in "Happy Death Day" about finding Maurice's clothes strewn across the house. There's another incident mentioned in Ghosts: The Button House Archives where Maurice spent a few days at Pat's house to do "some repairs" while Pat covered for him on the radio show, though this was just an excuse to get Pat out of the house so he and Carol could spend some time together.[1]
On Pat's death day, Maurice shows up with the rest of the family and Alison goes to greet them. She makes Pat feel a little better by describing Maurice as sweet but "unbelievably small".
