Mark is a contractor hired by Sam and Jay to restore Woodstone Mansion. He is first seen in the episode Viking Funeral and seen in various episodes doing contracting work in the first season. He later appears as a friend of Jay's. At the end of the second season he and Jay become business partners when they decide to open a restaurant in the barn at Woodstone B&B.

Biography

In the episode Viking Funeral he finds the bones of Thorfinn near the fountain. Mark is forced to tell Jay Arondekar about them and the bad news it would take weeks to get them removed. This could either be through an archeological dig or the local government.

In the episode Alberta's Fan, he brings his son David with him to the mansion. David can see the ghosts and has Thorfinn sing him to sleep.

In the episode The Vault, he found the vault when working on some wiring. He volunteers to get it opened for Sam and Jay. However, that service wasn't needed when Hetty gives them the code. Later, when a worker gets walked through by Elias Woodstone, she hits on him asking if they want to into a room and have sex. He declines saying that he's married but that it was a confidence boost. When the effect wears off she tells him "you wish." Then he walks away wondering what just happened.

He chooses to avoid doing his taxes with his wife in Ghostwriter, instead opting to watch the basketball game with Jay Arondekar.

He considers himself a sneaker-head in Woodstone's Hottest Couple and hides his shoe collection from his wife at Woodstone. Later Mark and Jay go into business together starting a restaurant.

• Alberta finds Mark hot in "The Not-So-Silent Partner".
• There is a running gag where the characters portray Mark as internally misogynistic, which started in "The Not-So-Silent Partner". This comes in handy whenever he starts to ask too many questions (e.g., when he asks how Sam was able to track everything in the grand opening of Mahesh in "It's the End of the World as We Know It and What Were We Talking About?" and Bela dismisses him by saying that she is a woman and good at her job).
