Jessica is the ghost of a woman who died in a car accident while under the influence. She appears in the American sitcom Ghosts and makes her first appearance in the episode The Perfect Assistant.
Biography[]
It is not clear when Jessica was born or died but it's implied she died fairly recently seeing as the car was bought by Freddie a few years after she died, so she probably died in the 2010s, and she appears to be around the same age as Sam and Jay. Jessica mentioned having “daddy issues” to Sasappis which could imply that she had a difficult relationship with him.
As an adult, Jessica became an alcoholic and it's implied that she had issues with the law due to reckless driving under the influence of alcohol. Her and her friends got kicked out of a bottomless mimosa brunch when her best friend Lindsey puked on the waitress. As she was driving home drunk, she crashed into a telephone pole and was killed in the crash. A few years later, her car was sold to Freddie, who unknowingly takes Jessica everywhere he goes, leading her to an afterlife on the open road.
Death[]
Jessica lives in Freddie's car, which was hers when she was alive. She is discovered sleeping in the backseat by Isaac, Sasappis, and Flower. She refers to herself as a car ghost because she died in an accident and can only walk a five-foot radius around the vehicle now that her spirit is bound to it. The upside is that she gets to "see the world" and "smell the smells" when Freddie delivers food. Sasappis is very taken by her and develops a crush on her.
Jessica has difficulty telling a full story because she died while buzzed. She attempts to tell the other ghosts how Freddie murdered her and then dumped her body. When she describes her ghost power and lets slip that she has the car keys, which she wouldn't have had unless the car was originally hers, the true story of her death is revealed. She explains that she lied to get Freddie fired because she enjoys living in the car while he travels and didn't want him to get a job that required the car (and thus her) to stay in the same place until his shift ended.
She lived near two ghosts when the car was in Freddie's ownership:
- Roger: a former model football player who died running into a goal post who lives near Freddie's ex-girlfriend's apartment. She notes that he's smart, sensitive, and absolutely ripped.
- Chad: a firefighter who was at a charity car wash who got hit by a driver. Jessica notes that he has washboard abs.
Appearance[]
Sasappis calls her way too hot to be Freddie's girlfriend. She appears to be of Asian descent and has brown hair with blond highlights. Her outfit consists of a floral black and white jacket, a bright pink sweater with matching scarf, jeans, and brown ankle boots. Her neck is adorned with a small silver necklace.
Notably, she has a piece of glass protruding from a gash on her forehead.
Personality[]
She can be viewed as ditzy, however she does have an manipulative side as she lied about Freddie killing her so he would lose his job since she liked when he took her on the road showing that Jessica doesn't like to be stuck in one place for very long.
Trivia[]
