"Ghost Hunter" is the thirteenth episode of Season 2 in the American sitcom Ghosts and its 31st episode overall. It premiered on February 2, 2023.

Synopsis[]

Sam and Jay's assistant, Freddie, purchases ghost-hunting equipment when suspicious activity leads him to theorize the B&B is haunted. Also, Sasappis risks losing his relationship with Jessica when Freddie sells his car.

Plot[]

A Plot: Freddie, Samantha Arondekar and Jay Arondekar's new assistant thinks that Woodstone Mansion is haunted. Amongst other things, he caught the keys of his laptop typing by themselves on camera. Sam and Jay pretend they don't believe in ghosts. Freddie orders some items to take care of the ghost problem. They include: sage, which the ghosts enjoy the smell of; a ghost detector, which doesn't appear to work; and the Ghost Trap 2000. He ordered it from a Latvian country which specializes in ghost hunting equipment. The ghosts assume it is a toy for children.

Freddie baits the trap with an Oreo cookie on top of it. The ghosts decide to touch the trap to prove it is fake. Trevor pushes a die off the table and Pete's number comes up. When Pete chickens out he challenges Thor to touch the machine. When Thorfinn does he gets sucked into the ghost trap. Isaac retrieves Sam and tells her Thor got sucked into the trap. While they are deliberating on what to do, Flower forgets what's going on and touches the machine, getting sucked inside.

Sam and Jay beg Freddie to find out how to release Thor and Flower from the ghost trap. They tell Freddie to press the button on the side of the machine and hold for three seconds. Unfortunately this starts a 5-minute countdown to "evisceration." Freddie tries calling back but it is a twenty-minute wait to talk to anyone. Inside the machine Thor and Flower share a tender moment. Jay suggests the machine says "2 and under" because that's the maximum ghost capacity of the machine. He theorizes one more ghost getting trapped inside the machine might overload it, freeing them all. Peter volunteers since his number had come up originally. When he gets pulled into the machine Thor and Flower are making out. But Jay's plan works and the machine overloads, expelling all three ghosts.

After all the excitement, Flower decides she is ready to go on a one-on-one date with Thor. Meanwhile, Freddie quits, listing all the issues he's had so far including the fact he thinks the mansion has ghosts.

B Plot: Freddie sold the RAV4 that Jessica, Sasappis' girlfriend, was bound to. Sasappis asks Sam to buy back the RAV4 so he can hang out with his girlfriend still. Jay tracks down the guy who bought Freddie's old car, a man named Marco who has a band which opened for another band called "Pungent Stench." Freddie sold the car to him for $1,300; Sam buys the car back for $1,550. Sasappis and Jessica hang out in the car together and they realize her car life is going to be pretty boring parked in the driveway. After the main events of the episode, Sasappis returns to the car to relay the excitement to Jessica and they mutually decide that she's better on the road instead of stuck in the driveway. Jay sells the car back to Marco and Jessica leaves with it.
