"Getting Out" is the sixth episode of Series 1 of Ghosts. It premiered on 20 May 2019.
Synopsis[]
When Mike and Alison consider selling Button House to a hotel chain, the ghosts come up with some get-rich-quick schemes to help the cash-strapped couple.
Plot[]
Worn out by juggling full-time jobs at a gooseberry farm and the restoration work, Alison and Mike consider selling Button House to a hotel chain. Fiona Legge, who comes to scout the house for the chain, is trying to rip them off by offering them a lot less money than the house is worth.
However, Mike and Alison agree to sell the house. The ghosts are upset about this and come up with plans to make them some money. Fanny tells Mike and Alison how to find a priceless jewel that she had hidden under a floorboard, but it turns out her husband pawned it.
Meanwhile, the Captain has been demoted from his position as leader by the other ghosts, who say he is too bossy. He overhears Fiona talking about the plan. He gets Kitty to tell Alison to show them the cellar, where he knows there is a plague pit. Kitty does, but while Alison is showing Fiona the cellar, Fiona falls into the pit, and after they get her out, refuses to even think about buying the house and leaves. Mike and Alison find out that this was the Captain's plan, and are annoyed.
Headless Humphrey comes out of the house, with his head attached to his body, but his head then falls off again.
