"Look now. If you must cry, then do it quietly. Like a woman."
— Eileen to Satan, The Haunting of Ramshead Manor
Eileen is the ghost of an Irish publican from the 1880s. She appears in Ghosts Australia and is portrayed by Mandy McElhinney.
Biography[]
Eileen was born in Ireland, where she survived the Great Famine of 1845-1852. She married and had thirteen children. Her husband and many of her children were ravaged by alcoholism.
She migrated to Australia at an unknown date, and run Ramshead Manor when it was a guesthouse. She remembers (the real) Ned Kelly as a gentleman and Irish hero against English oppression, though it is unclear if she actually met him. After her death, her pub was demolished by Miranda's father to build the master bedroom.
Appearance[]
Eileen is a middle aged portly woman with red hair and jaundice skin. She wears humble clothes and carries a cleaning rag on her hand.
Personality[]
Eileen is resigned and takes things in stride, but also sarcastic and quick to speak her mind. A hard-worker in life, she retains the compulsion to clean objects and walls with her rag, even though she can't actually interact with them. She is closest with Gideon, despite her open resentment towards the English and calling him a "stuck-up eijjet" (idiot) at times. Though illiterate and superstitious, she's not stupid.
Powers[]
She can belch fumes that make living people feel and act drunk.
