"Nah, fair enough. I wouldn't want to live here either."
Dave is an estate agent originally charged with helping the Coopers to find a new flat. He is portrayed by actor Ed Kear.
Biography[]
Dave is first seen in Who Do You Think You Are?, showing Alison and Mike around a flat which is small, depressing and doesn't have a garden but the downstairs flat had one they could look at.[1] He doesn't seem to put much effort into selling the flat and instead spends most of his time on his phone dealing with other clients. Dave knows that the Coopers hated the flat, he even reveals that he dislikes it, but is also fully aware they couldn't possibly afford a house as he's aware of their budget. He's helpful for the most part but displays a take it or leave it attitude. While viewing the flat Alison is contacted by a solicitor to inform her she'd inherited a house from Heather Button, this is presumably where he's informed his services would no longer be required.
He returns during Getting Out after Alison and Mike have decided to sell the house to Fiona Legge and Herrington Hotels, he instantly recognizes them when he arrives at the house. Though confused by Alison's insistence to search every nook and cranny for hidden ghosts he does his best to display all the best parts of the properties he shows to them and works around Alison's want for a new build location despite them lacking character and charm. Ultimately he is dismissed by them again when Alison and Mike end up remaining at Button House thanks to the Captain's plan to get rid of Fiona.
Appearance[]
Dave is a slightly overweight man with short dark hair and brown eyes. He is always seen in his work suit and usually has his phone in hand.
Personality[]
He can come across as disinterested and having a poor work ethic, a man more focused on his phone than doing his job, though in the last episode of season one he does display that he knows all the information about the houses he's showing and actually has a good amount of charisma; from this it is likely to assume that he changes his effort levels depending on how low his clients' budget is. When motivated Dave is jovial, helpful and appears to enjoy his chosen occupation as well as having a talent for it.
