Bilio Karatasos (Greek: Μπήλιω Καρατάσου) is the ghost of a rebel during the Greek War of Independence (1821-1829) and was burned alive by the Ottoman Turks. She appears in the Greek adaptation and is portrayed by Agoritsa Oikonomou.

According to tie-in material, her husband's name was Liakos Bournovas, her mother-in-law was killed by the Ottoman Turks, and she had a three-legged cow named Lamprini and an aunt named Panagoula.

Trivia[]

  • She is the Greek version of Mary from the original series.
  • It is implied that Bilio died after June 1825 (since she describes the mysterious circumstances in which Odysseas Androutsos, a prominent figure of the war, died on 5 June 1825).
  • In the 5th episode of the series, Bilio says that she was burnt to death by Ibrahim Pasha, a leader of the Ottoman-Egyptian forces who attempted to defeat the Greek revolutionaries. This is highly unlikely since Bilio was burnt to death in Kifisia (a suburb of Athens, in which the old mansion resides) and Ibrahim Pasha never fought in Athens or the surrounding area (he mainly fought in Pelopponesos and Mesolongi). A more likely culprit would be Kütahıs (Greek: Κιουταχής), who actually besieged the Greek garrison in the Acropolis of Athens from August 1826 to May 1827.
  • According the 4th episode of the series, she is illiterate to such a level that she can only read up to the number "3".
