Bela Arondekar is Jay's sister. She lives in Boston and comes to visit Woodstone Mansion in the episodes "Jay's Sister" and "The Christmas Spirit."
Biography[]
After her boyfriend breaks up with her, Bela comes to stay with Sam and Jay to clear her head. Bela meets someone new right away over a dating site and declines Sam's help in getting over her ex.
Before coming to the mansion, she had started messaging a guy she had matched with who turns out to be Trevor. When Sam forces Trevor to end the budding relationship, Bela thinks she got catfished and sends Trevor an insulting message. The iPad in the kitchen dings with an incoming message, and Jay and Sam try to convince Bela they were the ones who created Trevor's profile to help her get over her ex-boyfriend. Disgusted and hurt, Bela packs her things to leave. In an effort to save the situation, Sam blurts out that she can see ghosts, though Bela doesn't believe her at first. It takes the combined effort of the other ghosts to convince Bela that ghosts are real and Sam can actually see them.
Bela is touched that she is the only one apart from Jay to learn of Sam's unexpected ability and feels closer to her after finding out, and even admits to Sam that she has "always kind of wanted a sister."
At the end of Jay's Sister," Trevor manages to talk to Bela with Sam's help and tells her to find someone as incredible as her because that's what she deserves.
Sometime prior to the events of The Christmas Spirit she parked her car at Dunkin Donuts for two weeks before it was towed away. Bela had her friend, Eric, drive her to the mansion in time for Christmas. She is aware of his crush on her but she doesn't like him that way. She thinks of him as too into her. She gets Jay to tell her about the time he was possessed and then convinces Eric to be possessed by Trevor. However, that never happens with instead Sam gets possessed by Thorfinn.
When Eric finally attempts to get possessed he actually dies for a few minutes. Bela is scared and attempts to revive him until Thor as Sam revives him. Bela takes Eric takes up stairs to his bed, as he tells her of his time as a ghost and meeting Trevor. Jay calls him "deeply unstable" which makes Bela like him more.

- Bela keeps in contact with her brother often. Growing up, she forced him to dress as a girl until he was 5 years old.
- She loves clubbing, the Hamptons, and jam bands from the late 90s which she has in common with Trevor.
- She is the first person since Jay to learn that Sam can see and talk to ghosts.
- She refers to Jay as "LL Uncool Jay".
- She mentions moving four different times in The Christmas Spirit and that she likes watching lumberjacks splitting wood.
- Bela is part of two family chats.
- She got fired from a cat cafe sometime before Thorapy 2: Abandonment Issues and fired from previous jobs. She once worked as an event coordinator.
- She did not graduate from college, she went to the Pennsylvania State University at the Altoona branch.
- She mentioned that one of her classes there was creative writing.
- Bela is the second member of the Arondekar family to find out that ghosts exist and that Sam was able to see them, the first being Jay.
- The only ghost she has met is Elias Woodstone.
- In the episode T-Daddy, she mentions that she lived and traveled through Europe when she was in college.
