"A Lot to Take In" is the second episode of Series 3 of Ghosts and its 15th episode overall. It premiered on 16 August 2021.
Plot[]
Following the broadcast of Alison's TV interview in The Bone Plot, a stranger turns up at Button House claiming to be her half-sister - prompting a variety of reactions from the ghosts. Julian reacts with concern that the woman is pretending to be related to Alison for money or property, though this fear goes mostly ignored by Alison and the ghosts. Fanny also expresses fear that the woman will steal her identity. For the first time in the series, Thomas admits that his love for Alison may have been misplaced and claims that he must metaphorically leave her, though this changes later in the episode when he decides that he still loves her.
Meanwhile, Mike has first-day nerves in his new job, leading Julian to recall the only time he experienced first-day nerves: the day he became a ghost. The Captain and Humphrey both stay with Mike as he learns the ropes of his new job, and have an argument regarding whether or not The Captain could do Mike's job better than he can. Pat helps Kitty devise a dance routine after Alison, who had promised she'd spend the day with Kitty, becomes busy.
